Applying to Kendall

 

We offer 6 advanced residency positions with 6 internship positions at Kendall (4 transitional year positions and 2 preliminary surgery positions). Applications are accepted through ERAS. Interview invitations are sent on a rolling basis starting in October. We typically receive about 1000 applications and extend 90-100 interview invitations each year. 

Requirements for the application/admission process:

  • Personal Statement

  • Curriculum Vitae

  • Dean’s Letter

  • Transcript

  • 3 Letters of Recommendation (at least 1 from an Anesthesiologist)

  • Passing scores on USMLE Step 1, Step 2 Clinical Knowledge (CK), and Step 2 Clinical Skills (CS) or COMLEX equivalent must be achieved by the second attempt, preferably on first attempt

  • ECFMG Certification (if applicable)

  • Photograph

 

International Medical Graduates (IMGs)

If you are an International Medical Graduate, you will need to provide the following information/documentation to be considered for admission.

  • Valid ECFMG certification at the time of application

  • Permanent resident status or J1 Visa

  • Medical school graduation within the last 5 years

  • Doctor of Medicine diploma without reservations

  • Clinical experience in the U.S. (hands-on experience preferred)

  • Command of the English language

Interview Process

Interviews are granted on an invitation only basis. All Candidates will interview with the Program Director and one other member of the department.

Interviews are held 8:30am – 3:30pm on the following dates from October through January. The night before the interview day there is a dinner with some of our residents from 6:30-8:30 pm.

  • December 6, 7, 14

  • January 11, 18
